How Life Works For Me

1 – To be successful you’re going to have to work with people with whom you disagree. Park your ego and look at the bigger picture.

2 – The fastest and easiest way to get what you want is to help people get what they want. Bear in mind what they want is usually an upgraded version of what they need.

3 – What you hear and what people say are different. In a conversation work harder on what’s being said rather than what you’re hearing and you’ll experience a much higher level of understanding.

4 – Persuasion is better than force. Force is often the first tool out of the bag for the unpersuasive. Persuasion gets buy-in – force gets resistance.

5 – When you come across a seemingly insurmountable problem ask yourself this. How much money would it take to resolve this problem? If you can think of a sum then it’s not really a problem it’s just a lack of resources.

6 – We all seek meaning and significance. We need to know that we matter and that we can make a difference. And funnily enough we tend to follow people who provide that meaning.

7 – The fastest way to cure ‘feeling like crap’ is to do something to help someone else. Second fastest is to exercise. If you want to avoid ‘feeling like crap’ in the first place, make sure you get enough sleep.

8 – You will, more often than not, be the biggest obstacle to achieving the success you want. The sooner you get out of your own way the sooner you’ll produce the results you’re after.

9 – You have a story that you tell about yourself. The meaning of the events in that story shape your future for good or for bad.

10 – Difficulty may just be a gift hidden within a challenge. Open the gift and you’ll grow.

11 – The fact is, each day the sun rises in the East and sets in the West. No matter what happens this is true.

So, don’t spend too much time being concerned about stuff you can’t do anything to change.

This is just how I see it…
